An eternity ring is the ultimate expression of everlasting love and commitment. Traditionally given to mark a milestone anniversary, the birth of a child, or another significant moment in your journey together, these rings feature a continuous or near-continuous line of diamonds that symbolise an unbroken bond. At Hatton Garden Bespoke Jewellery, we design and make custom eternity rings in our Hatton Garden studio to celebrate life's most precious occasions.
The first decision when choosing an eternity ring is whether to opt for a full eternity or a half eternity design. A full eternity ring features diamonds set all the way around the band, delivering uninterrupted sparkle from every angle. A half eternity ring sets diamonds across the front half of the band only, which allows for easier resizing in the future and tends to sit more comfortably alongside other rings on the finger.
Eternity rings are designed to stack beautifully with your existing engagement ring and wedding band, creating a curated trio that tells your complete love story. We can match the metal, profile, and proportions of your eternity ring to your existing set, or create a deliberate contrast for a more contemporary layered look.
Diamond options for eternity bands are wonderfully varied. Round brilliant diamonds are the most popular choice for their unrivalled fire and sparkle. Princess cut stones offer a modern, geometric aesthetic, while baguette cut diamonds create a sleek, art deco-inspired linear pattern. Each stone is hand-selected and precisely matched for colour, clarity, and size to ensure a seamless flow of brilliance around the band.
Setting style also makes a significant difference. A claw set eternity band holds each diamond in individual prongs, allowing maximum light to pass through the stones for exceptional brilliance. A channel set eternity band secures the diamonds between two parallel rails of metal, offering a smooth, snag-free surface that is ideal for everyday wear.
Available in platinum, 18ct white gold, 18ct yellow gold, and 18ct rose gold, every eternity ring we create is made to order. An eternity ring is a band set with a continuous line of diamonds or gemstones, symbolising unending love or commitment. Full eternity rings have stones all the way around the band; half eternity rings have stones across the front half only - more practical for daily wear and often preferred as wedding or anniversary bands.
Traditionally given to mark significant milestones - a wedding anniversary (often the 10th, 25th, or 50th), the birth of a child, or a meaningful anniversary within a long relationship. Some couples choose eternity bands as wedding rings instead of plain bands, and many men commission them for their wives as surprise gifts. There is no wrong time.
Bespoke eternity rings at Hatton Garden Bespoke Jewellery start from around £1,800 for a half-eternity in 18ct gold with 0.50ct total diamond weight. Most commissions fall in the £2,500 to £6,000 range depending on diamond total carat, quality grades, metal (platinum runs approximately 30 percent higher than white gold), and setting style. Full eternity rings typically cost roughly double a half eternity.
Half eternity rings resize easily because the back of the band is plain metal. Full eternity rings cannot be resized in the traditional way because stones cover the entire shank. For full eternities we recommend ordering the exact final size and building in a 0.25 size tolerance. If resizing becomes necessary, we can rebuild the shank with matching stones - ask at consultation.
Round brilliants and princess cuts are the most popular for their sparkle and how cleanly they sit side-by-side. Emerald and baguette cuts create sleek Art-Deco lines. Marquise and pear shapes can be stunning but are more fragile at the points - we recommend protective bezel or half-bezel settings. Mix-shape eternity rings (alternating round and baguette) offer a distinctive classical look.
