Bespoke rings

We take your brief, model it in CAD and hand-finish it at our own bench, with casting and setting carried out by specialist workshops, and we arrange London Assay Office hallmarking. This page is the starting point for each type of ring we make.

The rings we make

Engagement rings

Solitaires, trilogies, halos and hidden-halo settings, built around a natural or laboratory-grown diamond of your choosing, with GIA or IGI certification available on centre stones. See bespoke engagement rings, or begin in our ring builder: start with a setting or start with a diamond.

Wedding rings

Court, flat-court and D-shaped bands, plain or set, made to sit cleanly against an existing engagement ring. Matched pairs for both partners are straightforward. See wedding rings.

Eternity rings

Full and half-set bands in claw, channel or pavé, made to mark an anniversary or a birth, and sized to wear alongside your other rings. See eternity rings.

Gemstone rings

Sapphire, emerald, ruby and other coloured stones, set as a centre or as accents. We source to your colour and budget. See gemstone rings.

What a bespoke ring costs

Settings start from £910 and complete bespoke rings from £2,000, with most commissions falling between £3,000 and £12,000. You deal directly with the jewellers who design and finish your ring. Every quote is given in full, in writing, before any work begins, and London Assay Office hallmarking is included.

At Hatton Garden Bespoke Jewellery, every bespoke ring is made to your brief. It is designed around your style and the details that matter to you.

Engagement rings and statement pieces alike begin with an idea. We work with each client on the choice of stone and its quality, the metal, the setting style and the finish. Remodelled from inherited jewellery or made new, every ring is finished by hand in our Hatton Garden workshop.

Our process pairs traditional hand work with modern design tools, so the detail and balance of a piece are settled before it is made. Classic solitaires, vintage-inspired settings and contemporary designs are all made to last. Each is designed for the person who will wear it.

Common questions

What makes a bespoke ring different from a ready-made ring?

A bespoke ring is designed around your specific brief (your chosen metal, stone, setting style and finger size), drawn up in CAD and finished by hand. A ready-made ring is mass-produced in standard sizes to a predetermined design. Bespoke pieces take three to four weeks to make, and because you work with the workshop direct your budget goes towards the stone and the craftsmanship rather than retail margins.

Can I design a bespoke ring without visiting the studio?

Yes. Many of our commissions are completed entirely remotely: by WhatsApp, email and insured shipping. We share digital design renders for approval, agree stone selection through photos and video, and ship the finished piece fully insured, in the UK or abroad. Clients from the US, EU, Middle East and Asia commission rings from us without ever visiting London.

What metals and stones can I choose?

Metals: platinum, and 9ct, 14ct and 18ct gold (white, yellow, rose). Stones: natural or laboratory-grown diamonds from 0.01ct to 10ct+, sapphires (all colours), rubies, emeralds, aquamarines, tourmalines, spinels and most precious and semi-precious gemstones. GIA or IGI certification is available on centre stones.

How much does a bespoke ring cost?

Bespoke ring commissions at Hatton Garden Bespoke Jewellery start from £2,000. Most clients commission in the £3,000 to £12,000 range. Larger commissions are quoted individually, and some go well beyond £20,000. The final price depends on the metal (at current metal prices, platinum usually costs less than 18ct gold and more than 9ct or 14ct), stone quality and size, setting complexity and finishing detail. A full quote is given at consultation, before any work begins. Metal prices move with the market, so a design left on hold for some time is re-quoted before work starts.

Can I visit your Hatton Garden studio without an appointment?

We work by appointment Monday to Friday, 10am to 5:30pm. Please book in advance so we can give you our full attention.

Do you offer ring resizing and jewellery repairs?

Yes. For a ring we have made, sizing down is complimentary and sizing up is quoted individually, depending on how much metal we need to add. For a ring made by another jeweller, resizing is a chargeable service, quoted once we have seen the piece. Repairs, re-polishing and re-plating are chargeable services too; bring your piece in or post it to us and we will give you a quote.
