Every repair is carried out at our Hatton Garden bench by our own goldsmiths. From the moment a piece arrives with us to the moment it is returned, it is fully insured. We begin with a free, no-obligation assessment and a fixed written quote, so you know exactly what the work involves and what it will cost before anything is touched.

Our founder has worked at the bench in Hatton Garden since 1999, with a family in the trade since the late 1960s across three generations. The same goldsmiths who build our commissions handle the repairs, so delicate, sentimental and antique pieces are treated with the care they deserve.

What we repair

We undertake the full range of fine-jewellery repair, including:

  • Ring resizing, up or down, in gold and platinum
  • Claw and setting re-tipping to secure loose stones
  • Stone replacement and re-setting, with natural or lab-grown diamonds matched to the piece
  • Rhodium re-plating of white gold to restore its bright white finish
  • Chain and clasp repair, including soldering and fitting new fastenings
  • Restringing of pearls on knotted silk
  • Full restoration of inherited and antique pieces

If your piece is not listed here, bring it in. Most work that passes across a goldsmith's bench, we can carry out.

How it works

Bring your piece to the studio by appointment, or post it to us by insured, tracked delivery. We assess it free of charge and provide a fixed written quote, with no obligation to proceed. Once you approve the work, our goldsmiths carry it out at our own bench. Most repairs are completed within one to two weeks, depending on the work required and on any stones we need to source. Where the work requires it, the piece is hallmarked at the London Assay Office before it is returned to you.

Repairs on pieces not bought from us

Yes, and you are very welcome. We repair and restore jewellery bought elsewhere, inherited, or acquired over the years, whatever its origin, and we assess each piece on its own terms. There is no expectation that a piece began with us.

How much does a repair cost?

It depends on the work and the materials involved. Every repair receives a free assessment and a fixed written quote before we begin, so there are no surprises.

Is my jewellery insured while it is with you?

Yes. Your piece is fully insured from the moment it reaches us until it is returned, whether you bring it in or post it.

Can you match a missing diamond or coloured stone?

In most cases, yes. We source natural and lab-grown diamonds to brief, and we match replacement stones to the colour, cut and proportions of the original as closely as possible.
