A yellow diamond carries a warmth that white stones cannot. It is a true diamond, the hardest gem we work with, coloured by nitrogen held within the crystal as it formed. We design each ring in CAD and hand-finish it at our own bench in London, with casting and setting carried out by trusted specialist workshops, choosing the stone, cut and setting together so the colour reads exactly as you want it to.
Reading the intensity grades
Fancy yellow diamonds are graded by how strongly the colour shows, not by the absence of it. The recognised scale runs from Fancy Light, through Fancy and Fancy Intense, up to Fancy Vivid, where the yellow is at its deepest and most saturated.
Stronger grades cost more, but the right grade depends on the look you want and the setting around it. A Fancy Light stone in a warm mount can read more golden than its grade suggests, while a Fancy Intense stone framed in white can look almost electric. We source certified stones across the range to your brief and share full grading and detail so the choice is made by eye, not by paperwork alone.
Choosing the cut
Cut does real work with a coloured diamond. Some shapes hold light in ways that deepen the body colour, which is why two cuts are favoured above the rest.
- Cushion cut: rounded corners and broad facets that pool the yellow and give a soft, antique character.
- Radiant cut: crisp edges and a brilliant facet pattern that concentrate colour while keeping the stone lively.
Both gather the yellow more fully than a classic round brilliant, which tends to disperse it. If you have a shape in mind already, we will work to it. If not, we will compare cuts with you and share full grading and detail before any stone is sourced.
Natural or laboratory-grown
We offer fancy yellow diamonds both ways, each independently graded so you know precisely what you are buying. A natural fancy yellow is rare and priced accordingly. A laboratory-grown stone is chemically and optically the same diamond, equally durable at Mohs 10, and gives strong, vivid colour for considerably less.

Setting and pairing
How you frame a yellow diamond changes how it reads. Set against white diamonds and white metal such as platinum, the contrast makes the yellow look more intense. Set in 18ct yellow gold, the metal warms the stone and softens it into something gentler, more vintage in feel. A pair of white diamond shoulders or a white-set halo is a reliable way to lift the colour of a lighter stone.

Yes. A yellow diamond is a true diamond, Mohs 10 and the hardest natural material there is, so it stands up to everyday wear as well as any colourless diamond. The colour is part of the crystal, not a coating, so it will not fade or wear away.
Is the yellow colour treated?
In a natural fancy yellow, the colour comes from nitrogen present as the diamond formed and is entirely natural. Some yellow diamonds on the market are colour-treated, so we have every stone independently graded and will always tell you whether the colour is natural, treated or laboratory-grown before you commit.
