Design Your Ruby Engagement Ring

Use the builder above to design your own ruby engagement ring. Start by choosing your ruby, then select the setting and metal that suit it. As you work, the ring takes shape on screen, so you can see your choices together before we make anything.

How the builder works

Choose your ruby first, then pick the setting and metal in platinum or 18ct gold. The ring updates as you go, so the design you see is the design we discuss. Once you are happy, we make it bespoke at The Goldsmiths' Centre, designed in CAD and finished by hand in our Hatton Garden workshop, as we have done in London since 1999.

A quick note on ruby

Ruby is red corundum and sits at Mohs 9, so it is hard-wearing and well suited to a ring worn every day. Most natural rubies are heat-treated to improve colour, which is standard practice and always disclosed. For colour, clarity and choosing a stone in more depth, read the ruby guide.

Common questions

Can I change my design after using the builder?

Yes. The builder is a starting point, not a final order. When you book a consultation we refine the ruby, setting and proportions together until the design is right for you.

Do you work with rubies I already own?

Often, yes. Bring your stone to your appointment and we will assess it and design a setting around it, or discuss sourcing a new ruby if that suits you better.
