Design Your Sapphire Engagement Ring

Use the builder above to design your own sapphire engagement ring. Start by choosing your sapphire, then pick the setting that frames it. Watch the ring take shape as you go, and when it looks right, we make it bespoke on our own bench in London.

How the builder works

Choose your sapphire, selecting the colour and proportions that appeal to you. Choose your setting, in platinum or 18ct gold. See the two come together on screen as a single ring. When you are happy, talk to us and we make it bespoke, designed in CAD and finished by hand in our Hatton Garden workshop. Our founder has made fine jewellery this way since 1999, by appointment at The Goldsmiths' Centre near Farringdon.

A note on sapphire

Sapphire is Mohs 9, the hardest coloured stone after diamond, which makes it superb for daily wear. It is the classic engagement blue, though it grows in many colours, from soft pink to deep teal. For colours, origins and what to look for, read the sapphire guide.

Common questions

Can I change the setting after I have chosen my sapphire?

Yes. The builder lets you swap settings freely before you commit, so you can see your sapphire in several styles and metals first. Nothing is fixed until you confirm the design with us.

What if I want a colour or shape I cannot see in the builder?

Tell us. The builder is a starting point, not a limit. Because every piece is designed in CAD and finished by hand in our Hatton Garden workshop, we can source a particular sapphire and draw a setting around it from scratch.
